For homeowners
Window & door sealing
Perimeter seals around windows and doors are the building’s first line of defence against Adelaide’s driving winter rain and summer dust. UV exposure degrades them faster on western and northern elevations.
The problem
Draughts, dust ingress, water staining below window frames

Our process
How we do it
- Step 01
Inspect

- Step 02
Remove and prepare
Perished sealant cut out, joints cleaned and backing rod fitted where the gap requires it.
- Step 03
Seal
UV-stable exterior-grade sealant, tooled and finished.
Questions
Window & door sealing — common questions
Why do the western windows always fail first?
UV exposure. Afternoon sun on western and northern elevations degrades sealant significantly faster than the shaded sides of the house.
What is backing rod and do I need it?
A foam rod fitted into deep joints so the sealant forms a correctly shaped bead rather than filling the entire cavity. Without it, deep joints fail early.
